Journal of Information, Technology, Engineering, and Science (JITES)
The Journal of Information, Technology, Engineering, and Science (JITES) is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality scientific articles covering topics in information technology, engineering, science, and education. This guideline aims to assist authors in preparing and submitting manuscripts that align with the journal’s publication standards.
Scope of the Journal
JITES welcomes original scientific articles, both empirical research and non-research papers such as literature reviews and conceptual studies, that focus on the following areas:
- Information Technology
- Engineering
- Science
- Education related to these fields
Submission Guidelines
All manuscripts must be submitted through the JITES online submission system at JITES Submission Portal. Authors are required to register and log in to the journal’s website before submitting their manuscripts.
Submissions must be original, have not been published elsewhere, and are not under consideration by other journals, either in print or electronic format.
Manuscript Format
Manuscripts must be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia and prepared using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) following the official JITES template, which can be downloaded from the journal’s website.

Manuscript Structure
The manuscript must follow the JITES journal template. Authors are expected to arrange their manuscripts according to the provided format to ensure consistency in style and layout.
Abstract and Keywords
Each manuscript must include an abstract of 200–250 words written in both English and Bahasa Indonesia. The abstract should summarize the research’s objectives, methods, key findings, and conclusions.
Provide 3–5 keywords relevant to the manuscript, separated by commas.
Tables and Figures
- Tables and figures should be presented in their original, editable format (not as images).
- Each table and figure must be numbered consecutively (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1) with clear, descriptive titles.
- All tables and figures must be cited in the text and accompanied by proper source references where applicable.
References
References must follow the APA (7th edition) citation style. Authors are encouraged to use Mendeley or similar reference management software to ensure proper citation formatting.
- Minimum References: 15 sources
- At least 80% of references should come from recent publications (within the last 5 years), preferably from reputable journals, books, and credible academic sources.
Plagiarism Policy
All submitted manuscripts will undergo plagiarism screening using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% will be rejected or returned to authors for revision. Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work.
Peer Review Process
JITES applies a double-blind peer review process, where both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other to ensure unbiased evaluation. Submitted manuscripts will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s subject area.
The review process typically takes 4–8 weeks, and the possible editorial decisions are:
- Accept without revisions
- Minor revisions required
- Major revisions required
- Reject
Editorial Rights
The editorial team reserves the right to make minor adjustments to the manuscript, such as formatting or language edits, to ensure uniformity and clarity without altering the content’s meaning.
Publication Frequency
JITES is published twice a year, in September and March.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
Information regarding publication fees (if applicable) will be provided upon acceptance of the manuscript.
