Peer Review
Peer Review Process
Journal of Economics, Business, and Humanities (EKSISHUM)
The Journal of Economics, Business, and Humanities (EKSISHUM) is committed to maintaining high academic standards through a rigorous double-blind peer review process. This process ensures the quality, originality, and relevance of the articles we publish while maintaining fairness and objectivity.
1. Initial Submission Check
Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the editorial team to ensure it meets the journal's scope, formatting guidelines, and ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not comply with the submission requirements may be returned to the authors for correction before proceeding to the review stage.
2. Plagiarism Screening
All submitted manuscripts are checked for plagiarism using reliable plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 25% will be rejected or returned to the authors for revision.
3. Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial checks are assigned to two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The double-blind review process ensures that:
- The reviewers do not know the identities of the authors.
- The authors do not know the identities of the reviewers.
This anonymity helps maintain the objectivity and integrity of the review process.
4. Review Criteria
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on several criteria, including:
- Originality and contribution to the field
- Relevance to the journal’s scope
- Theoretical framework and literature review
- Methodology and data analysis (for empirical studies)
- Clarity of presentation, structure, and language
- Significance of findings and conclusions
Reviewers provide detailed comments and suggestions to help authors improve their work. They also make one of the following recommendations:
- Accept without revisions
- Accept with minor revisions
- Revise and resubmit (major revisions required)
- Reject (if the manuscript does not meet the journal’s standards)
5. Decision Making
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding the manuscript:
- If minor revisions are required, authors are given a specified period to submit the revised manuscript.
- For major revisions, the revised manuscript may be sent back to the same reviewers for re-evaluation.
- In the case of conflicting reviews, the editor may assign an additional reviewer to provide an independent assessment.
6. Revision and Resubmission
Authors are expected to address all reviewer comments clearly and thoroughly. A response letter outlining how each comment was addressed should accompany the revised manuscript. Failure to adequately respond to reviewer feedback may result in rejection.
7. Final Decision and Publication
Once the manuscript meets all the academic and editorial standards, it will be accepted for publication. The editorial team may make minor edits related to formatting, language, and style to ensure consistency with the journal’s requirements without altering the content or meaning.
8. Confidentiality and Ethics
All manuscripts under review are treated as confidential documents. Reviewers are expected to maintain strict confidentiality and disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may affect their objectivity. EKSISHUM strictly adheres to publication ethics and best practices, following guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
